A Physical Therapist and Yoga teacher for 20 years Becca is known in the Birmingham area for her instruction in therapeutic yoga and for providing one on yoga and physical therapy. She is a cofounder of Practice Works and lead trainer for HereNowYoga teacher trainings. Becca is also a certified Yoga Therapist with IAYT.
Suzanne is a Kripalu lineage yoga instructor with specialty training in Yoga Nidra, Yoga for Cancer, and Yoga for Seniors She combines a flowing style with a focus on strength, breath, light-heartedness and a quiet spirituality. She finds that yoga provides the connection between the physical body, the true self, and the divine energy of the universe.
After receiving her 200 hour yoga certification from Yoga Arts in Byron Bay, Australia in the summer of 2003, Meg (Coleman) returned to Birmingham where she has been teaching private yoga lessons and classes for the past 16 years. While originally trained in Ashtanga yoga she has expanded her teaching through many trainings and workshops in various styles and modalities and this diverse education along with years of experience have informed the flow practice she teaches today. Meg aims to make each practice not only accessible to every unique person who takes her class but to help each student feel empowered and informed every step along the way to creating a sustainable and enjoyable yoga practice.
Keeley Michael is a C-IAYT 1,000-hr Yoga Therapist. She has been a committed practitioner of yoga since 2010 and has dedicatedly studied under Yoga Therapist, Laura Jane Mellencamp-Murphy, since 2013.
Lauren Rae Brown
RYT 200, LMT
Lauren graduated from Heartwood’s Yoga Teacher Training program in 2008 and continued her mentorship with co-owners John LeMunyon and Kate Tremblay, teaching classes at Heartwood from 2008-2012. Lauren was especially drawn toward restorative yoga in her personal practice and naturally combines her experience as a manual therapist with the supportive, comforting role of Restorative Yoga instructor.
Stephen is a long time student of Tai Chi beginning in 1975 from Birmingham’s renown dance maven Laura Toffell, in 1982 with Martin Inn of the Inner Research Institute and in 1985, with William C.C. Chen in New York. Since 1984, Stephen has been teaching Tai-ji Quan and Qi Gong in Birmingham. And taking classes more or less yearly with Mr. Chen in New York.
Julie Maharrey believes in the power of a slow and steady practice. Julie uses over a decade of experience as an anatomy and physiology instructor to teach a balanced, safe yoga practice. Focusing on mindfulness, core strength, breath work, and functional movements, this yoga practice will help students learn to move better throughout the day. Using experience from the 300 hour Sacred Glow Teacher Training, 200 hour Here Now Yoga training, and Great Yoga Wall training, Julie brings a warm, encouraging, thoughtful approach to class. Her moderately paced class emphasizes strength and mobility. Beginners, athletes looking for an edge, and seasoned yoga practitioners will all benefit from this yoga practice.

Angee Marie Croxford
Angee is a licensed physical therapist and certified Pilates instructor. She has an extensive western education including a mentorship in Australian manual therapy and enjoys using a holistic approach with clients. She addresses dysfunction at its source with her signature style of integrating traditional and alternative techniques to treat the whole person, resulting in tension release and allowing for improved alignment as well as providing custom exercise programs to correct imbalances and decrease pain.
As a yoga teacher Dorrie wants to encourage structural integrity, safe self exploration, curiosity and a sense of physical well-being. In 2017 Dorrie completed a 200 hour alignment based yoga teacher training with Becca Impello and Kim Drye. She has practiced yoga for the past twelve years and frequently attends a variety of workshops to enhance her yoga practice. She has training in Yoga Wall instruction, and Yoga for Seniors. Dorrie believes that yoga can positively change your life and calm a hectic mind.
Jessica’s personal healing journey brought her to Herbalism and Aromatherapy, then on to Reiki and Sound Healing. She believes that we can tap into our inner guidance when we are able to strengthen our connection to ourselves. She encourages her students to develop their sense of personal power. She uses Reiki Energy Healing, Sound Healing, Meditation and Aromatherapy to help students connect with themselves.
Cindy practiced Yoga for over 10 years before completing her Here Now Yoga 200 hour teacher training. She is a life-long learner who continues to take workshops to grow her practice and her teaching. She sees Yoga as a powerful tool to calm and focus the mind and to help practitioners move through all phases of life with strength, balance, and a positive outlook.
